Melting Mute

There is a discrepancy between my vocal expressions and my tactile expressions. When you look at it, the painting becomes a second body to convey the words I couldn’t speak aloud. I am constantly caught in between lost in words and urge to address. Whether it’s about losing the freedom of speech in my home country or facing the fear of losing someone in my family. It almost becomes a process to ease the pain of the body. At the same time, painting itself is treated as a body to be hung solely on the wall. The experience is perplexing and gradually builds up the tension for me to seek for expressions. Acceleration, transformation, breakdown, these abstract movements all came together in the motion of melting.
